Abstract

The spirit of mutual cooperation is a common cultural practice that has "grown" within Indonesian society. It holds significant value in the context of development. However, recently, this value has experienced a slight decline due to busyness. This is generally felt by Perumahan The Mountain View residents, located in Maros Regency, from 2020 to 2021. This community activity employed a participatory approach combined with leadership styles. The results of this community service project showed that giving residents opportunities to address issues generated a strong spirit of mutual cooperation. Additionally, the implementation of participatory (democratic) leadership in decision-making made the community more active. The spirit of mutual cooperation serves as a pathway to building a humane region. The incorporation of participatory models makes development more targeted and fosters a sense of ownership.
