Abstract

Bamboo weaving craft is a traditional art form that holds high economic and cultural value. In the Besang Kawan Tohjiwa Village, Semara Pura Kaja District, Klungkung Regency, Bali Province, many community members engage in bamboo craft, particularly bamboo weaving, for religious ceremony purposes. The purpose of community service is to identify and address challenges faced by artisans in adopting eco-friendly bamboo weaving practices, develop sustainable promotion and marketing strategies for bamboo weaving products to enhance the value and competitiveness of artisans' products, and enhance artisans' capacity to apply sustainable bamboo weaving practices through continuous education, training, and guidance. The method employed in this community service is a participatory approach that actively involves the community in every stage of bamboo weaving product development, through discussions, meetings, or group sessions. Throughout education and training, participants are taught about various bamboo weaving techniques, proper crafting methods, and waste management. They are also provided with knowledge about the importance of using environmentally friendly raw materials and the added value of creating unique designs in bamboo weaving products. This community service aims to improve the participants' knowledge and skills in creating high-quality bamboo weaving products, including various weaving techniques, crafting methods, and waste management. Participants should be able to produce quality bamboo weaving products with unique designs as a result of this community service.
