Abstract

The need for English learning media is very important to support the learning process. In the village of Cerme Kidul, it shows that children are enthusiastic about learning English, especially learning English vocabulary in an interesting and fun way. A fun learning process is the key to how cognitive abilities and character development develop simultaneously. One way to make the learning process enjoyable is through the use of learning media. This dedication aims to introduce one of the learning media, namely "SMART" board games which can be used by children to learn new vocabulary in English. The method used in this service is a demonstration and learning method based on Active Joyful Based Learning (AJBL) which prioritizes the learning process in a fun atmosphere where children are invited to play games using the "SMART" board game learning media to learn English vocabulary. The results of this Community Service show that children have increased vocabulary. Apart from that, through this game children are trained to learn to be disciplined and responsible. During this game, children are responsible for the tasks given. They exchanged tasks as pawns, rolled the dice and answered the questions on the question cards well. Children are also disciplined in following the rules of this "SMART" Board Game. The conclusion of this community service activity is that the "SMART" board game learning media can be used for children to learn English vocabulary in a fun way in Cerme Kidul village.
